Akhil Bansal is Deputy CEO for KPMG in India, a premier global professional services firm. As a veteran with more than two decades with the Firm, he has served on a number of leadership and client service roles including Country Head of Assurance and Chief Operations Officer (COO).
As Deputy CEO, his responsibility includes overseeing the Firm’s businesses and strategy implementation. He has more than two and a half decades of professional services experience and is actively engaged with Indian and global clients of the Firm across multiple sectors and geographies.
Akhil is a regular speaker at various regional, national, global, industry, trade and social forums where his topics range from governance, corporate policies, technology, and many others.
Akhil is active on various academic bodies & industry forums including AIMA, Ph.D., CII, etc. He is the Chairman of Ease of Doing Business Committee for CII – Northern council, Co-chairman of the Economic Affairs sub-committee for Ph.D. Chamber of Commerce and also a council member of the Economic Times India Leadership Council.
Akhil is a qualified Chartered Accountant, a fellow member and rank holder from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). He holds an honors degree in Commerce from Aligarh Muslim University where he was a Gold-medalist.
Akhil has successfully completed a number of leadership programs from prestigious institutions including the Harvard Business School, INSEAD-France, ISB-Hyderabad, and IMD-Lausanne, Switzerland.
Akhil takes an active interest in corporate citizenship initiatives. He devotes time and resources to several of the Firm’s Child Education and Environment protection programs in India. He is a member of the board of advisors for Literacy India, a member of United Way of Delhi, a trustee/member of various other NGOs. Currently, he is working on a project which aims to uplift 108 villages in Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh.
